  • Cobe Cottage Black01 (www.cobecottage.com.au) is as an escape from the frantic – a peaceful place to take time out to chill and reboot.

Located in the scenic country coastal retreat of North Haven (Greater Port Macquarie), Black01 is a ‘cool’ quality dog friendly vacation base all year round to chill and explore the Mid North Coast of NSW.

Positioned at the end of a small quiet cul-de-sac leading to the river and riverside walkway/park you can relax at the cottage, take a stroll to the dog friendly patrolled beach a kilometre away, have coffee at the one of the local cafés, fish and chips at the Fishermen’s Co Op or see a movie at the Plaza Theatre (built in 1959 and where in the early 70’s Baz Luhrmann’s father was the projectionist).

You can be as chilled or as active as you like. North Haven is a popular swimming, surfing, kayaking, fishing, boating, bushwalking, cycling and paragliding destination. It’s about a 3.5-hour easy drive from Sydney and a 30-minute drive from Port Macquarie/airport.

Black01 has a slick contemporary industrial feel and is black metal clad with translucent glass windows and doors that open out to big timber decks. Its white interior has a large living area, lime washed timber floors throughout and a galley kitchen serviced with Miele appliances. It has a lockup garage and sizeable secure backyard.

The cottage has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a separate laundry. Bedroom 1 and 2 have queen size beds. Bedroom 3 has a double sofa bed. You have the flexibility of being able to combine bedroom 2 and 3 by opening an adjoining barn door.

At approximately 6 square kilometers North Haven hugs the Camden Haven River and the Pacific Ocean. The river and lakes are home to dolphins, a wide variety of fish and some of the largest wetland eco systems on the North Coast providing habitats for a wide range of native birds and other wildlife such as koalas and kangaroos. The Camden Haven River and Riverside walk is at the end of Black01’s cul-de-sac.

Grants Beach (also know as North Haven Beach) is a kilometre from Black01. This beautiful pristine beach runs for about 3.5 kilometers. It’s home to the Camden Haven Surf Lifesaving Club, who with council lifeguards patrol the beach during the school holidays and summer weekends. Dogs can run free on the beach north of the patrolled area. At the southern end of the beach there is the Beach Break Café, picnic tables, showers and other amenities.

A 5-minute drive away, Laurieton is well serviced by plenty of places to eat with fish and chips from the local Fishermen’s Co Op to pubs and clubs.

    1. Anne Cobe Cottage Black01 – 'Cool' quality accommodation North Haven (Greater Port Macquarie)

We recently had 5 very relaxing days with Alfie our poodle/shih Tzu at Cobe Cottage..It was fantastic, stylishly furnished with all mod, cons. The rear lawn is fully fenced. North Haven is very dog friendly, part of the beach is for dogs. Lots of lovely level walks along the river. Local shops nearby. Highly recommended.

We loved our stay at Cobe Cottage Black01. It is amazing and clean. Everything is new and excellent quality. The beds are incredibly comfortable and the linen ix beautiful. It is a great location. The river is at the end of the street and there is a beautiful beach a short walk down the road. We had great coffee and fresh seafood on the river. We highly recommend it and will be going back.
