Charming underground pet & dog friendly Bed & Breakfast, which welcomes the whole family, including your furry friends. With magnificent outback sunrise views and a comfortable temperature all year round, this quaint shared accommodation caters for all travellers and guests no matter what season you visit. The dugout has rooms to suit the lone traveller or the whole family. All linen is provided during your stay.
We offer a children and pet friendly family room with a comfy couch, TV, books and board games. This space is bright and airy, and is bound to host hours of fun for the whole family. The dugout also hosts an adult’s space with a TV/DVD player and well stocked libraries of books & DVDs. The fully equipped kitchen is fully self-contained if you wish to self cater during your stay. Please note that groceries are very limited at out local store so you may wish to bring supplies with you. We do provide breakfast cereals, milk, juice, bread, butter and a variety of spreads & condiments.
We have two full shared bathrooms available, including a bathtub and laundry facilities.
The outdoor space features a little desert oasis with a sunrise viewing area, and a stone table for your outdoor picnics where a gas BBQ is also available. The outdoor garden is fenced but we can’t guarantee that you pet won’t escape so please ensure they are under your supervision at all times during your. Trappers boasts magnificent outback panoramic views topped off with a stunning, uninterrupted sunrise. This is one of the first dugouts to be kissed by the first rays of the day.
The dugout includes an in-house mine where you can have a tour of our historical mine area as well as a personal appearance of Trapper himself, the original dugout occupant. This original mining area will give visitors a first-hand experience of just how hard mining, and existing on these fields was in the early days. Trapper has a wishing well donation shaft combined with a windlass and ladder setup where guests can make a donation to local community services. A miners version of a wishing well. At various locations throughout the dugout, there are viewing panels that show historic memorabilia and opal in its natural form. The temperature inside the dugout stays fairly constant at around 18 degrees in the winter and up to 25 degrees in summer. Outside daily winter temperature in White Cliffs are between 15-20 degrees C and 39 – 42 degrees in the summer.
