The 1.9 km long dog friendly beach faces northeast and is sheltered by Surveyor Point. Consequently the jetty, boat ramp and boat moorings are located here and conditions are usually calm. The northern sand flats narrow and deepen with seagrass meadows right off much of the beach. A channel has been dredged though the seagrass to the jetty, boat ramp and seawall providing deepwater access at the shore.

Dogs are welcome off leash on all beaches in Yorke Peninsula (except in National Parks).
