8. East Creek Trail

Toowoomba

East Creek Trail is a 11.7 kilometer moderately trafficked out and back trail located near town. The trail is primarily used for walking, running, bird watching, and road biking and is accessible year-round. Dogs are welcome to use this trail but must be kept on leash. The trail begins just west of Queens Park and the state-heritage listed Toowoomba Botanic Garden on the Traditional lands of the Giabal people.

9. Queens Park & Botanic Gardens

The Queens Park and the state-heritage listed Toowoomba Botanic Garden are a calm nature refuge nestled inside the city of Toowoomba. You can walk a loop around both or simply zig-zag your way and enjoy the tree-lined pathways. Dogs are welcome to join you on leash. There is also an off leash area in the park, perfect for a little playtime for the pups.

Harristowns’ beloved Coronation Park was recently upgraded. The approved upgrades to the grounds included additional tree planting, improved pathways and car parking, new lighting and shelters, renewed playground equipment, a kick-about area and a new toilet block.Dogs are welcome off leash on the southern section of the park.

11. Murray Clewett Wetlands

Kearneys Spring

The Murray Clewett Wetlands are named in honour of Toowoomba City Council engineer, Murray Clewett. They serve as a detention basin to mitigate flood events as well as providing a serene environment to take a gentle walk, watch the birdlife or embark on a larger run or cycle along West Creek. There are pathways throughout the park which are popular for walkers, joggers and cyclists. The western side of the pond and the adjacent pathway are permitted off-leash areas in the park.

12. North Ruthven Reserve

Harlaxton

Recently upgraded fenced off leash park. Across the parkland, mature trees provide extensive shade during summer making for a relaxing environment. Seating, bins and information signage also included onsite along with car parking and a drinking fountain with dog bowl attachment.
