The Apollo Bay main beach runs in an arc for 4 kms from the harbour next to Apollo Bay town to the mouth of Wild Dog Creek.

Please note that Apollo Bay Main Beach is NOT an off-leash beach but dogs are permitted on-leash and attended by owner at certain times

The Apollo Bay town end can get quite busy, but towards the Wild Dog Creek end you will be rewarded with remoteness and far less crowds.

Summer [between 24th of December and 30th of April]:
Dogs are prohibited on the main beach between Marriners Lookout Road and Apollo Bay Harbour from 9am to 7pm between 24th December and 30th April
Outside these times, dogs are permitted on-leash & attended by owner
North of Marriners Lookout Road dogs are permitted on-leash & attended by owner at all times [about 1.5 kms from Apollo Bay town]

Winter [01st of May to 23rd of December]:
Dogs are permitted on-leash & attended by owner 24h

At all other times and at all other beaches in town, dogs are permitted on-leash and under owner control
