It’s a comfortable and scenic 90-minute drive south from Hobart to Tahune, one of southern Tasmania’s must-see dog friendly attractions.

At Tahune Forest Adventures you can walk high above the forest canopy with your dog and share the lives of the forest giants from up-close, looking down to the place where the wild waters of the Huon and Picton Rivers mingle. The 600-metre walkway ends at a spectacular cantilevered platform 50 metres above the riverbank, with views extending to the mountains of the World Heritage Area.

After exploring the grounds and the walk park yourself on the large dog friendly deck of the Visitor Centre/Cafe/Restaurant and listen to the birdsong in the trees. You can order local wine, beers & cider from the Huon Valley region.

Tahune is open weekends 10-4pm, last ticket sales at 3pm.
