Your pooch is welcome in the front bar and the beer garden, and for both areas The Welcome Hotel offers a mouthwatering menu.

Beer lovers won’t be disappointed either with 15 taps of glorious beer awaiting you from around the world.

Humble beginnings, a friendly hand and a Hound called Winston helped create the legend behind The Welcome Hotel – one of Sydney’s oldest pubs.

In 1878, Winston – a stowaway pooch lost his master. The plucky English fox hound was lucky enough to stumble upon a friendly publican in his drinking house on Evans Street. He welcomed the dog into the pub giving it a new home. That day a legend was born and the public house gained not only a new mascot but an inspired name!

BYO pooch really does have a true meaning here, dog friendly since 1877!

    1. Ella The Welcome Hotel | Dog Friendly Pub in Rozelle

I enjoyed my humans taking me here because I was allowed inside where it was nice and warm. But I got a bit upset when an off-leash dog kept coming over and growling at me, and the owner didn’t do anything. Also my female human got food poisoning last time we went so I don’t think we will go again.
