The best way to explore Manly is by foot. This dog friendly coastal walk starts from the popular off leash area at Manly Lagoon Park (A) where your dog can dig the sand, walk in the shallow waters or even explore a little further into the lagoon for a swim. Just be mindful that often the lagoon can get a little dirty and it is recommended to rinse your dog after a swim.
Make your way from the lagoon off leash area towards the Queenscliff Beach and follow the footpath to Manly Beach. Here you find a great dog friendly cafe Hemingway’s Manly (B) in case you need a short pitstop. Continue your scenic walk pass Manly all the way to Shelly Beach which marks your halfway point. Return the way you came back. If your dog is still keen for some off leash action, there is a fenced off leash area at Hinkler Park just couple of minutes away from the Manly Lagoon.
